My Story
As a 59-year-old mother of five children, I’ve faced and overcome my fair share of health challenges. After studying at Georgetown University and working in the banking and fashion industries, I found myself struggling with weight and health issues. With Hashimoto's disease (hypothyroidism), celiac disease, and fluctuating hormones, I felt exhausted with brain fog — and even worried about having early onset Alzheimer’s disease.
Through independent study and trial and error, I discovered how to offset the effects of aging and feel like myself again. I went back to school at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition to learn how to help other women navigate the world of health, nutrition, and longevity.
I worked with Dr. Frank Lipman, a functional medicine doctor, and guided hundreds of people through his cleanse which is essentially an elimination diet supported by supplements to curb sugar cravings, increase energy, lose excess weight, and improve digestion and gut health. The vast majority of people were able to achieve their goals and feel great by making dietary changes. It taught me that food is truly medicine!
Over the years, I’ve experimented with exercise and diet to see what works, including vegan, paleo, keto, raw vegan, Mediterranean, and intermittent fasting. I’ve run seven marathons and have done several triathlons. I now do weight training, Barre classes, and am crazy about tennis. I believe the key to success is creating a personalized plan that works for you.
